Wonderful and Welcoming Wednesday!

Welcome back everyone!!!!

We began the day sharing about our wonderful holidays!

We then had French and then Gym.

After first recess and lunch we learned about Kwanzaa while reading Kwanzaa Kids. We found out that Kwanzaa is a celebration of African heritage and culture. This holiday is celebrated from December 26-Janaury 1. We also explored the seven principles of Kwanzaa and learned how to say these words in African: Unity, Self-determination, Creative work and Responsibility, Cooperative economics, Purpose, Creativity, and Faith.

Next we practiced shading and sketching only using a pencil. First, we did an example as a class and then we practiced how to colour lighter and darker shades with a sketching activity. We will practice shading tomorrow again and then we will use the ‘sketch what you can see’ technique to sketch our cultural artifact!

After second recess and lunch we worked on new years resolutions and goals. I will post them tomorrow.

Homework:

1.     Read for 20 minutes
2.     Cultural artifact
3.     Prepare for speech
4.     Sign Math test
